US Asia Center to Host Asian American Business Leaders Roundtable

Washington, DC – Today, US Asia Center (USAC) Chairman Rudy Pamintuan announced that USAC would host the Asian American Business Leaders Roundtable on August 8, 2008 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The event will be a daylong series of roundtable discussions with local Asian American Chamber leaders from throughout the United States. Topics to be discussed will range from the positive impact of Asian investment into the American economy, federal programs available to Asian American owned businesses, best practices amongst local Asian American Chambers and incentives of “going green.”

Success stories within the Asian American community will also be highlighted.

Confirmed speakers include former US Ambassador Sichan Siv and former Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta. 

Former US Ambassador Sichan Siv“The Asian American Business Leaders Roundtable will be a wonderful opportunity for active Asian American business leaders to network and learn about the various opportunities at the international and local levels. With this information, attendees can share this rich information to their respective chambers and institute programs for greater economic development within our community.” Rudy Pamintuan continued, “The participation of former US Ambassador Sichan Siv and Secretary Norman Mineta will offer an added dimension of inspiration.”

 
USAC Symposium Series Completes Its Tour in Kansas City

The U.S. Asia Center (USAC), in partnership with U.S. Asian Business Council (USABC), announces the final city in its symposium tour to address the state of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) businesses in the United States.  The symposium will be held on Tuesday, February 5, from 11:00am – 1:00pm at the University of Missouri- Kansas City.  Co-sponsors of the event are the Asian American Chamber of Commerce- Kansas City, Lockton Companies, and the University of Missouri- Kansas City (UMKC).  More information can be found on our calendar.

 
U.S. Asia Center Participates on Panel Discussing Korea-U.S. FTA

Angela An, Executive Director for the U.S. Asia Center, along with Minister Counselor Han Dong-Man from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, participated in a panel discussion on the implications and merits of the Korea-U.S. FTA on January 23.  Hosted by the Korean American Coalition-DC Chapter, the panel discussion took place at the Cannon House Office Building.

Multi-City Symposium Tour Continues in Orange County

U.S. Asia Center (USAC) and U.S. Asian Business Council (USABC) continue their multi-city symposium tour in Orange County, California to discuss a report to President George W. Bush titled “Enhancing the Economic Potential of Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.”  The symposium will take place on Sunday, January 13 at California State University, Fullerton at the Garden Grove Center.  More information can be found in our calendar.
